We sadly announce the death of two Vice Presidents. Both were formidable women and admired for their dedication to our county and wide
Girlguiding and Trefoil circles.
Janet Mitchell was best known to the Galston and Upper Irvine Valley area having held various roles. She was a very capable woman and so proud to be a member of Girlguiding and Trefoil. She will be missed for her advice-giving and numerical skills.
Elsie Brown was larger than life and will be remembered for her vibrant appearance and genuine smile. You could never guess what colour her hair was going to be the next time you’d see her! She just loved being involved with camps and events in any way she could. She wouldn’t belong in saying if something hadn’t been done correctly!
We say thank you to these two ladies for all they have done.
Our thoughts are with family and friends.
How did you celebrate this year’s Thinking Day? We’ve heard of girls wearing their uniform to school and leaders wearing their promise badge to work.
Units worked on the WAGGGS Thinking Day challenge. Over 100 of us travelled to Edinburgh to take part in Wander The World on Saturday 23rd February.
Many churches held special Thinking Day services on a Sunday to recognise our great organisation and founders. What a great time to be in Girlguiding
and celebrate this year’s theme of Girlguiding taking leadership.
What makes you who you are? What do you enjoy? What do you value? How do feelings affect you? These are just some of the questions explored with the badges and activities in our Know Myself theme.
Check out some of the badges involved in this theme here.
If you have girls who would like to go to Tartan Gig but no leaders to go with them, and any units that are booked to go but would be interested in sharing transport with others in the county please contact Janey Gorman.

Details of a competition to win 1 of 10 tickets will come out next month, watch this space for more details!
