Can you walk the border length of Ayrshire North?

‘Girlguiding Ayrshire North Roamers Challenge 2021’ is a County wide walking challenge for all members (volunteers and young members) to take part in over the Summer holidays
(26th June – 15th August).

The challenge is to walk the distance of our county’s borders, totalling to 157 miles! Completing milestone lengths will net special Roamers badges, and there will be prizes awarded to those who walk the furthest in County. So please sign up, and encourage your Unit’s young members to sign up too!

Will you top the leaderboards?

STEP 1

Register your Strava account!

You can register through the website or download the app through Android and Apple devices. This will be the service used to record your walking progress and check out the rankings with the rest of County with our own Leaderboard. You do not need to buy the subscription to use the app.

The app can also sync to any GPS device including phones, Fitbits and Apple watches!

For Old Skoolers, there is also an option to enter your details manually to your account after each walking session on the website here

STEP 2

Join the GGAN group!

Click and groups and under clubs search for ‘Girlguiding Ayrshire North’ to join or click here to go to the Club page. Here you can join the Roamers challenge in the group and follow the Leaderboards with other members across the county.

NOTE: Walks not appearing on Leaderboards

The workaround for this is to record your activity as ‘runs’ instead of ‘walks’ to appear on Club page. You can change this when you record or can edit each activity.

STEP 3

Go out and have fun!

Time to take on the Challenge! During your walks take your device with you to record your progress. This challenge will run from the 26th June to the 15th August. How far will you go?

Completing milestone lengths will net special Roamers badges, and there will be prizes awarded to those who walk the furthest in County.
