What a fun, busy and exciting weekend in Ayrshire North!
Some young members and leaders were involved with Bronze and Silver DofE Scotland expeditions taking place on home soil. Well done to those who completed this element of their award.
We were honoured to host Girlguiding Scotland on Friday evening and Saturday at Blair Activity Centre. The Scottish Chief Commissioner welcomed volunteers from surrounding counties to a pot luck supper on the Friday evening where stories and songs were shared between friends old and new. On Saturday morning, the Scottish Executive had their quarterly meeting of trustees in Badger Hall whilst young members from South West Region got involved with Youth Participation activities bringing their voices and thoughts forward about the future of Girlguiding. Saturday afternoon brought the executive and youth participants together to discuss co-production and we look forward to progressing with the many ideas suggested
To top off a packed weekend, today we took leaders in training through their paces at our training day at Blair Activity Centre where we discussed anything and everything to do with the leadership qualification, and 7 volunteers got put through their First Response.
Thanks to everyone for getting involved. Special mention to those who helped organise, supervise or who supported these amazing opportunities and events to make them happen.
