The County Team

Ayrshire North’s County Executive is made up of 10 volunteers with specific responsibilities, plus the 10 Division Commissioners for the county. In addition to the Executive, there are advisers who cover various activities, sections, and awards. Please go to the bottom of the page for any current vacancies.

Helen heads up all of Girlguiding Ayrshire North. She ensures the county runs smoothly from Unit level up to the County Executive.

Shiona Gilmour

Assistant County Commissioner

Shiona supports the County Commissioner and is her right hand woman. She is a sounding board for Helen, and will also be involved in all major decisions for the county.

County President

Kim is the face and ambassador of Girlguiding Ayrshire North, ensuring everyone adheres to our values.

Isabel McNicoll

County Treasurer

Isabel manages the financial side of the County from signing off costs to providing support to units.

Lesley Hamilton

Growing Guiding Co-ordinator

As Growing Guiding Co-ordinator, she generates ideas on how we can get more young members and volunteers.

County Secretary

County Secretary takes minutes at any major meetings within the County, whilst managing event bookings and promotion when need be.

Edith Shedden

Trefoil Guild Chairperson

Edith oversees all Trefoil Guilds in the county, offering encouragement and support. She also sits on the County Executive to keep abreast of what is going on so she can involve the Trefoil.

Shona Russell

Guiding Development Adviser

Shona develops and supports the current volunteers within the County. This may be in the form of arranging training days and events.

Lorna Millar

Leadership Co-ordinator

Lorna’s role involves supporting Leaders In Training by providing them with a mentor and then following them through their leadership journey and pack.

Louise Crichton

Marketing Communications Adviser

Louise leads the marketing and communications within Ayrshire North which includes writing volunteer newsletters, and managing the website and social media accounts.

Division Commissioners

The role of Division Commissioners is to support units within their division and pass on any information from UK, Scotland, or County Girlguiding teams. They also have a fundamental role for Join Us and Go! which are systems which keep note of volunteer and young member’s details. They are key representatives for their Division at County level.

Current Vacancies

Vacancies are only open to current Girlguiding Ayrshire North members. If you are interested in any of the vacancies within the County Team, please let your Division Commissioner, the County Commissioner, or Assistant County Commissioner know. Most roles require you to have passed your Leadership Qualification, but will say if there are different requirements. We are always looking for new ideas and skills within the County Team, so even if there is no vacancy but there is an area that interests you – get in touch!
